The  Indie/Alternative rock band based in Dublin has released their second EP ‘Day Tours.’ The EP includes some catchy vocals, solid guitar riffs, powerful drum beats and funky baselines. Major effort was put into this EP, and the results really does pay off. Not only are these guys talented musicians and songwriters they also designed they artwork for this EP.

This 6-track EP really displays the growth from this band from their previous EP. This EP would play fantastic on some outdoor event over the summer. And hopefully these tracks will make some air time on the radio in the upcoming months because they are radio-ready hits.

What is great about Pelican’s music is the way they create hooks and how well they work into their music. And secondly their songs tend to get stuck in your head almost automatically, which in this case is a good thing. Musically the Clontarf based band create riffs and catchy hooks which could become very useful in them getting signed.

What I love about this EP is as every track begins a different venue comes to mind. Stand out track from the EP has to be Sounds from a Saturday Afternoon, I promise you after listening to this track you will be whistling with the beat of the tune after. Closely followed by Sylvie, a very different track to anything else on the EP. Really sends out an intimate indie vibe, and showcases what talented songwriters they are.

The EP opens with Eye Contact, hearing this track you can see just how cool this EP is, other tracks such as We Should Get Dressed & Tumbling, are great tracks that will work great in a beer garden over the summer.

Over all these guys have created a strong second EP and Joe Mc Donald has done a fantastic job producing this EP also. A great selection of tracks that should and hopefully make it onto the radio waves, this is how bands like Kodaline and Hermitage Green have become household names. and the guys from Pelicans has the potential and talent to follow in their footsteps. Looking forward to seeing these guys performing these new tracks live over the next couple of months.

Make sure to like the Pelican’s Facebook page for upcoming events.
