A three pronged pop punk musical attack on Glasgow at the city’s O2 Academy featuring Chunk No! Captain Chunk!, Yellowcard and Less Than Jake provided the more discerning music fan with over three hours of loud bouncing energetic fun. An incredibly early start saw Chunk No! Captain Chunk! Play to an almost empty venue apart from some very young fans keen to get a front row view of the headliners….A brave set of power pop, hardcore songs and a brave effort front man Bertrand Poncet to start a mosh pit seem to fail to get the lack lustre crowd to wake up and take notice..pity really because the guys were very good.

Co-headliners Yellowcard on the other hand arrived on stage to a full venue and open with ‘Convocation’ from their new album ‘Lift A Sail’, followed by another two tracks from the new album ‘Transmission Home’ and ‘Crash The Gates’ the crowd seemed a little muted!! ‘Lights and Sounds’ changed the whole dynamic of the audience who became lively as the crowd surfers started to pour into the pit…Lead vocalist ‘Ryan Key’ thanked the crowd for their support through the years and took to his piano for a solo rendition of ‘California” then ramping up the tempo for a noisy finish with ‘Ocean Avenue’….the crowd demanded more but not tonight as it was ‘Less Than Jake’ time…..
