Glasgow’s Tijuana Bibles are set to self-release their new single ‘Sun Chaser’ on 2nd March, a precursor for their forthcoming EP ‘Ghost / Dance / Movement’ set to be released in May.
A drive-in soundscape stomp evoking David Lynch and James Ellroy noir, dripping in psychedelia and one of the dirtiest guitar lines you’ll hear this side of Tom Waits or Queens of The Stone Age, ‘Sun Chaser’ is basically cool as f*ck and probably like nothing you’ll hear this year.
Another Scottish band to take to your hearts.
“…we never die unless we say so…”
Born and bred in Glasgow, but with more in common with the swampy blues of Louisiana, Tijuana Bibles are a mix of grungy sludge-based riffs and groove-laden rhythms.
After releasing their ‘Wild River EP’ in late 2013, the band played a shedload of shows in 2014, selling out Tuts and Sleazys; appearing at T in the Park, Wickerman and Belladrum festivals; supporting the likes of Deap Valley, Alabama 3 and the View and released two follow-up singles – ‘Crucifixion’ and the free download ‘Toledo’.
Tijuana Bibles have picked up quite the dedicated fan base over the past year and 2015 looks to continue into Europe and beyond.
