“I will wait” is the first single to be released off Mumford and Sons new album “Babel” due out through Glassnote Records out September 25th. This album follows up their hugely successful debut LP “Sigh no more” and the Mumford boys decided it would be wise not to stray too far from the formula that brought them such acclaim.
“I will wait” bursts on to the speakers with the same folk-pop rock that we’d expect from this band. It is a joyous jamboree of banjos and seering vocals seeing the band return in a gust of excitement and celebration. Folk can be very hit and miss and hard to deliver to the audience, but Mumford and Sons have found fans that span across every age range and know their formula works well, giving the band and music a new confidence which really shows here. It is exactly what you’d expect from Mumford and Sons: anthemic, fast paced and shows the banjo isn’t just for country singers. The band are on flying form and it’s only up from here. A rousing return and well worth the wait!
