With just under 3 weeks to go until Primavera Sound Festival, excitement is building over the ever eclectic line-up. Past years have seen the likes of legends Arcade Fire, Blur and Nick Cave take to the stage and 2015 is set to be just as impressive.
The Strokes will headline Saturday night and if Setlist.fm is anything to go by they’ll be playing all the hits. Their latest performance at Big Guava Music Festival (May 9th) spanned the discography and included fan favourites such as New York City Cops and Is This It?
Other weekend headliners include Ride, Alt-J, The Black Keys, Interpol and Patti Smith.
Primavera has so much more to offer than big time superstars, the rest of the line-up offers plenty of gold worth panning too. We could spend all weekend listing the talent but in the interest of saving time here’s a list of artists you absolutely cannot miss (no, really):
Belle & Sebastian, Caribou, Dan Deacon, Death from Above 1979, Ex Hex, Foxygen, James Blake, Mac Demarco, Run the Jewels, Shabazz Palaces, Tobias Jesso Jr, Tyler the Creator and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
Whether it’s electronic DJ’s, rock anthems or heartbreak acoustic niceties that win your vote, you’ll find every genre under the sun at Primavera Sound. And speaking of sun, did we mention the site backs onto a beach?
The annoying thing about UK festivals is the dreaded 11pm live music curfew. Just as the night gets going you’re forced to find a mysterious packed out tent to sardine in. The beauty of Primavera is that headliners don’t play until gone midnight giving you plenty of time to get on the sauce.
Convinced? Of course you are. Read below to find out how you can be knee deep in sangria and sunshine surrounded by your favourite bands…
When? 27-30th May.
Where? The festival takes place in the Parc Del Forum site, around 6km away from central Barca. We suggest staying in the Sant Marti district to be close to the action.
Tickets: At the time of writing general release tickets have sold out. There are a limited number of VIP tickets floating around. Grab the last few here.
Accommodation: Over 100,000 local and international music fans flock to Primavera so most of the cities hostels and hotels have already been snatched up. We suggest turning to Roomorama and Air Bnb for a lucky break.
