On The Mountain: An Interactive Original Video Series feat. Alex Winston and How Sad Produced by The Wild Honey Pie With Support From MailChimp, Lärabar, and Grain Audio.
Today, The Wild Honey Pie is proud to release the first season of their original video series, On The Mountain, featuring recording sessions shot on and around Stratton Mountain in Vermont with Alex Winston, MisterWives, Small Black, How Sad, Snowmine and White Sea. You can watch the 6 episode series, comprised of over 25 music and interview videos using the On The Mountain trail map – all videos are interconnected using YouTube annotations making for a more immersive, exploratory experience.
The series was filmed over the course of four days in January at Stratton Mountain in Vermont where bands MisterWives, Snowmine, Small Black, Alex Winston, White Sea and How Sad recorded alternate versions of their songs at the various mountain lodges, after dogsledding and snowmobiling, and more.
“The biggest difference is community that has developed between the crew, the bands and the [guests]. We created a family”. – Jay Goodman, Snowmine
“ it was an INCREDIBLE experience. My abs are sore from laughing.” – Mandy Duffy, MisterWives
The Wild Honey Pie invited 15 randomly selected guests to join the artists and crew on set at On The Mountain. In addition to witnessing the intimate recording sessions firsthand, the guests were treated to free ski passes and rentals, lodging, beer from Magic Hat, On The Mountain merch, and more.
Last October, The Wild Honey Pie released season 1 of the first of its kind interactive series Welcome Campers, a collaboration with Consequence of Sound – which included recording sessions with Caveman, Yellow Ostrich, Widowspeak, and more. You can view the original video series HERE. Season 2 is being filmed this June 7-8 at Camp Lenox in Massachusetts.
