Canadian singer-songwriter Barzin has a new album on the horizon titled To Live Alone in that Long Summer which is set for release on February 25th on Monotreme Records. In anticipation for its release fans have been treated to a single off the new LP called “Fake it Till You Make It”.The song debuted via USA Today with a brief interview from Barzin explaining the meaning behind the song. Barzin also released a new track as a free download titled “All the While” which is also off the new album.
Both tracks give us a good idea of what to expect from his fourth album with soothing guitar, bright piano chords and an achingly beautiful string accompaniment. It sets the stage for what could well be his best release yet. For the new release Barzin recruited some of Canada’s finest musicians such as Tony Dekker (Great Lake Swimmers), Daniela Gesendheit (Snowblink), and Tamara Lindeman (Weather Station) who provide backing vocals and Karen Graves (Hayden) who provides the string accompaniment. Barzin seems to be pulling out all the stops for this one and hopefully it will live up to expectations.
