Against Me! has released the official video for their song Black Me Out.

Featuring shadow puppetry, live footage of the band and black and white graphic animation, the video tells the story of Transgender Dysphoria Blues‘ rousing closer, and frontwoman Laura Jane Grace’s aggressive dismissal of the pessimistic.

Released in January, Transgender Dysphoria Blues, recently dubbed as “one of the most incisive and life-affirming rock albums of the ’10s” by SPIN, it is the intense follow up to the band’s previous full length, White Crosses.

The album is an insightful and highly-provocative 10-song offering written by frontwoman Laura Jane Grace, whose material examines one’s grappling with gender dysphoria, the loss of a young friend and pure self discovery, as well as love and ultimate acceptance.

Against Me! is currently touring behind the release of Transgender Dysphoria Blues, an album that entered the Billboard Top 200 at #23, the band’s highest charting position in its 15+ year history. Running through April 6, the tour will take in 18 more evenings across the Midwest, West Coast and Canada, and support on the entire run will be provided by Laura Stevenson and Cheap Girls. Information on tickets for the upcoming tour can be found on the band’s website, http://www.againstme.net/tour.
