SOJA played Dublin last night and as you can expect it was quite the gig! It was the last night of their European tour and they closed of the tour in style.
SOJA (Soldiers Of Jah Army) is an American reggae and dub band based in Arlington, Virginia. SOJA have been on the scene since 1997 and are currently signed to ATO Records. The eight-member band are touring in support of their recent album Amid the Noise and Haste.
Energy is the only way I can describe the show, non-stop energy re-fuel by their almost country infused reggae beats. For the last ten years SOJA have been one of the biggest names on the US reggae scene and this can be simply put down to talent and a lot of hard work touring and connecting with fans.
SOJA just recently won two awards at the 33rd Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), Bob Marley Award for Entertainer of the Year and Best Reggae Rock Song / Entertainer – “I Believe”
SOJA are Jacob Hemphill, Bob Jefferson, Ryan “Byrd” Berty, Ken Brownell, Patrick O’Shea, Hellman Escorcia, Rafael Rodriguez and Trevor Young.
