Eight months ago ex Beautiful South members Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott sold out Glasgow’s O2 ABC and treated the audience to a mix of Housemartin’s, Beautiful South and songs from their new joint venture ‘What Have We Become’ and brought the house down… now the dynamic duo take on Glasgow’s larger O2 venue The Academy
Their recent tour was a resounding success with excellent reviews and selling out across the country and culminated on with a show at Hull City Hall. All dates were sponsored by the GMB Trade Union. The autumn tour will see Paul, Jacqui and band play ten dates, and ends in a show at The Roundhouse in London.
The audience having had more time to digest the new album gave the new songs a brilliant reception, the opening song and last single ‘Moulding Of A Fool’ was amazing and had the crowd sing along. ‘DIY’, ‘What Have We Become’, ‘Costa del Sombre’, ‘The Right In Me’ and ‘When It Was Ours’ all received like old friends but Paul Heaton would never had been forgiven if some Housemartin’s song didn’t get an airing…’Were Not Deep’,’Build’ and ‘Me and The Farmer’ brought the loudest applause of the night with The Beautiful South’ Rotterdam’ and ‘Perfect 10’ coming a very close second….
